Montreal truly is one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world. The rich history, the culture diversity, and its many natural parks are just a few things that make this city special!<\/p>\n

There are several observation points throughout Montreal that provide various panoramic views of the city at any time of year; views ranging from the mountain to the river! The team at Joelle Bitar<\/a> have put together this fun list of some magical places you can visit on the island to really experience the city.<\/p>\n

1. St. Joseph’s Oratory<\/h2>\n

Montreal’s highest point\u2014the only one taller than Mont Royal\u2014is famous for the many mysterious and miraculous healings attributed to the saint from whom it got its name. On its grounds, more than a few marriage proposals have been made.<\/p>\n

The overlook of St. Joseph Oratory offers one of Montreal’s best sunset views.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you want to visit the Catholic shrine and catch the sunset at the same time, stop by the Oratory in the late afternoon or early evening. Add to your adventure with one of Montreal’s top smoked meat sandwiches featured at Snowdon Deli<\/a>, only a quick cab trip or 15-minute walk away.<\/p>\n

2. Montreal Tower (Olympic Stadium)<\/h2>\n

The Tour de Montreal is a 165-meter (541feet) tower situated in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve<\/a>, near Montreal’s Olympic Park. It is the world’s highest inclined tower and leans at a 45-degree inclination.<\/p>\n

You can see the whole Greater Montreal region, as well as up to 80 kilometers (50 miles) of the St. Lawrence River valley, from the tower’s top. A two-minute trip in a funicular with glass walls can take up to 50 people to the summit.<\/p>\n

3. Old Port of Montreal<\/h2>\n

The most historic and well-liked tourist destination in the city is Old Montreal. The cobblestoned area where the city’s French colonial roots were first established is now lined with shops, galleries, and restaurants that are all located in historically significant structures from as far back as the 17th century.<\/p>\n

The views of the harbor and the neighborhood’s buildings are all absolutely stunning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Old Port’s observation wheel, a recent addition that opened in September 2017, offers year-round 360-degree views of Montreal while rising up to a height of 60 meters above the water. It is 197 feet, which is roughly the height of a 20-story structure.<\/p>\n

The observation wheel cabins, which provide views over Old Montreal, the city’s downtown, Parc Jean-Drapeau, and significant sites like the Biosphere and Olympic Stadium, are heated in the winter and air-conditioned in the summer.<\/p>\n

4. Westmount<\/h2>\n

Westmount, an affluent municipality on the island of Montreal west of the downtown area<\/a>, is home to some of the richest people in Canada. And the majority of its grandest homes are spread over Mont Royal, around Summit Park, where one of Mont Royal’s three peaks is located at an elevation of 201 meters (659 feet).<\/p>\n

Buses do reach the region, but there is a good amount of uphill walking necessary to get all the way to the top of Summit Park, where the Westmount Lookout is situated, making it perhaps the least convenient location on our list to visit by public transportation.<\/p>\n

There are other secret viewing areas located all across Westmount. You’ll discover additional perspectives as you explore more. Simply put, the most well-known spot is Summit Park’s Westmount Overlook.<\/p>\n

5. Les Enfants Terribles<\/h2>\n

On the 44th level of Montreal’s tallest skyscraper is a restaurant called Les Enfants Terribles. Enjoy one of the city’s finest panoramic views while having a nightcap or weekend breakfast.<\/p>\n

This is a popular downtown hotspot, and it is normally busy at any time of day, so be sure to make reservations in advance. Throughout the warmer months, there is also an outside lounge area.<\/p>\n

6. Clock Tower Quay<\/h2>\n

The Montreal Clock Tower, which is situated beside the St. Lawrence River, was constructed as a monument to Canadian sailors who lost their lives during World War One.<\/p>\n

Visitors may take the 192-step climb to the top of the 45-meter-tall (148-foot) tower when it is open\u2014it is a seasonal attraction\u2014and take in the views of the river and the city.<\/p>\n

7. Place Ville Marie Observatory<\/h2>\n

In the past, there was a bar named Club 737 up on Place Ville Marie, in the center of downtown, that was well-liked by the after-work population. Montrealers would often frequent this location.<\/p>\n

Today, it has been transformed into an observatory that offers 360-degree views of Montreal. The views are breathtaking!<\/p>\n
